This CD is a collection of songs and ideas from the collaboration between Don Potter, Bruce Dailey, and Wes Foy (PDF). If you were to combine the musical education of PDF, it would span many years and numerous styles. After a long time in both the mainstream and religious music businesses, we simply wanted to do what just felt good, and this is where we landed. Synago is almost jazz, almost classical, and almost funk, but it is mostly creative and spiritual freedom.
Synago: Greek word meaning: to lead, gather together, and assemble into one family; the leading together and collecting, especially to entertain.
There has been a great loss to the listening public because music business executives decided it was easier and cheaper to compartmentalize genres of music. Many multi-talented people have been limited to one sound, style, and market to accommodate this categorization. Both musicians and the listening public lost the freedom to explore outside of those dictated styles.
Synago is an opportunity to break out with us and come together in experiencing a new freedom as we play what is in our hearts.
